I joined the Roger Waters band in 2002. Jon Carin, who plays for Roger Waters and also Pink Floyd was (luckily for me) dealing with a new born baby. This meant that the space was open for keyboard player in the band. I went and spent a couple of "audition", days with Jon at his place in upstate New York, just to check out a few of the keyboards and see whether I would be suitable for the job. We went through a load of the songs and he provided me with the audio samples for the Kurzweil 2500 that I would be using for most of the set. The meeting was a success and my place in the band secured.
We started the tour in South Africa (Capetown was my first gig) which was absolutely incredible. We spent the first half of the year touring the southern hemisphere, which is highly recommended to anyone wanting to escape the winter months in the north. We visited all the continents and many countries including: Japan, Korea, Africa, India, Australia and Russia, as well as all over Europe. We spent six months on the road and it was one of the best times I've ever had.
